The Arizona Jewish Historical Society is the
ONLY organization dedicated to
preserving our Jewish history in Arizona now
before it is lost forever.
To achieve our goal, the Society collects,
preserves, exhibits, and publishes, relevant
materials such as photographs, letters,
diaries, oral histories, scrapbooks, and
artifacts having reference to the settlement
and history of Jews in Arizona and the
Southwest.
We are also restoring Phoenix's first
synagogue as the CutlerYPlotkin Jewish
Heritage Center. Originally built in 1922,
it will provide a place where people of all
faiths can come to learn about our Jewish
history and culture as well as the
tremendous diversity of our state.
Finally, we sponsor a variety of lectures
and family history workshops free to the
